ASPER is
a non-profit making organization for community work and it
has been established in Naples on October 2004.
The name of the Association has a doble meaning. The first
one is referred to Association for the Defense of Human
Rights of the Eritrean People. The second one is the latin
word "asper" referring to something “rough,
tortuous, hard”,
exaclty like the track that the Association itself is intended to walk. The
intention is to break the wall of silence for the international
public opinion about the tragedy of the Eritrean people since
the involvment of the Italan Government in this country is
ambiguous and scarcely clear.
Asper is a non-political and independent Association in front of any organization,
trade-union, professional or political group, but it has a privileged relationship
with all the Organizations directly interested in the recognition of the
Human Universal Rights and in the promotion aimed to the fulfillment of peace
and democracy in Eritrea.
Asper's Associates are about 200 and mostly living in different Italian
and European cities.
Subscribing Asper is free.
Some associates support Asper by their voluntary work or by providing small
amounts necessary to sponsor all the activities approved by the board of
directors.
Asper is followed by lawyers and researchers of the National Research Center
of Naples for the International Law. For any further information, please
